A professional liar

Shadows dance on the names we wear,

hiding our true feelings deep down in our pockets.

Hearing each other's footsteps as you walk downstage,

sounds strangely nice.

We're all actors, dressed up dancing our hearts out on stage.

And yet, between the two worlds of acting and real,

I feel as if they're the same now.

Something we toss back and forth as a form of relief,

from being somewhat a professional liar.

The days of acting will someday end, I know.

But for now I'm going to embrace the days that we have now,

when we still don't know everything,

and it's perfect just how it is.

Waiting for the not-so-perfect tomorrow that's to come.

(I got inspo for this from the song Actor from SXF!)

  • Colors I hear

    Aimee Carty.

    She's my favorite artist.

Her name is a swirl of blue and pink in my mind,

    but her music-

oh, her music is such a beautiful blend of all the colors you can name.

  • So you say

You sit at your fancy desk and act like you're doing something.

    Something good for the world.

    You say that you are,

    you say that you're helping.

    You're not,

    haven't been,

  • She used to

    She used to smile.

    She used to laugh.

    She used to not care.

    She still smiled and laughed,

    but it wasn't real.

She used to not care but then she did.

    When did it start?
