I’ve never liked the seaside
fearing the riptide
that takes me away
I’ve never liked the high dive
jumping
up
up
up
then down into the deep
nothing
Yet here I decide
to reside right by
the waves that crash in
and take
and take
and take
the debris away
into the mystery
known as a beautiful killer
known as a ruthless sinner
the sea
I’ve never liked the storms
fearing the lightning
that strikes on weather vanes
I’ve never liked the sailboats
drifting
out
out
out
then away into the deep
nothing
Yet here I decide
to take refuge by
the great big monster
who takes
and takes
and takes
the lost souls away
into a bad place
known as a beautiful killer
known as a ruthless sinner
the sea

Ah, some think "seaside" and think "peaceful," but the ocean is a terrifying place, too: both a place and a being that can gobble you up whole. Without actually personifying the sea by name, you've made it a true character here, given it teeth. Your narrator's distress, with whatever the sea has "taken" from them in the past, is palpable.
Thank you! :)
