“She doesn’t think right,”

“She has horrible visions,

incomprehensible to the mind.”

She is disorder

She is me

A single thought blossoms

into sweet insanity

A moment you can’t make

a feeling you can’t shake

I am the monster

they tell you is fake

I am the apathy

leftover from hate

I’m what they hate

that’s what they’ll say

Do you remember the time

that you and I

spent in front of the TV?

We watched Disney cartoons

and the world around us

stopped.

I remember 

when nothing else mattered

and we could just be.

Sometimes I miss 

little things that meant nothing to some 

but everything to me 

Do you remember the childlike wonder 

on those rare days when we got to see 

Goodnight, goodnight.

While you sleep ever so tight,

I’ll be here

waiting

for a soft sleep to embrace me

It doesn’t come for the cautious

Instead I’ll hold you so close

Do you remember being a kid?

Do you remember the lullabies?

We’d fall asleep smoothly

watching the mobiles spin by

Now we lie awake

our thoughts, they spin and shake

in that same old way
