It comes like clockwork

Tainting my life in red

Searing pain

Heavy thoughts

Crushing my heart

And yet

I go to school

I get good grades

I do my sports

With the taint of red

Everyday

Women lead their life

They work hard

They fight for what they want

All painted with red

They keep us going

They pay the bills

They raise children

All with a taint of red

But do we get any credit?

Any relaxation?

A break?

No

We live

With searing pain

And our life with a taint of red
