To kiss another’s tears is to drink a poison of your own creation,
Thoughtful, carefully crafted, and yet stings just the same.
To kiss another's tears is to be in a desert full of drought,
Is to be blinded by pain tearing at your skin while your lips dry shut
To kiss tears that drop from the cheek of a child is the same as kissing tears that drop from the cheek of your own mother,
To kiss them is a prayer that is whispered, but never heard,
Or to smell paint that is dried, but never seen.
To kiss tears that did not fall from your own cheek is a blessing,
And yet it curses you to drown in your own breath.
To cry for another’s tears is to mourn what isn’t dead and celebrate what isn’t alive.
