I am what they call
an obedient child
but I have my fair share
of thoughts of rebellion
and here is one of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why must we follow
the rules that have been written
on an old piece of parchment?
Does that mean
that if write down some rules
the whole country has to follow them?
And why, might I add,
must I go to school
if I don't want to?
You call that
a free country?
being forced to go somewhere
against your will?
I don't call that free
Maybe they're for our well being
in the long run, at least,
but it certainly doesn't seem
like a very fair agreement
Oh, and these 'laws?'
Why must we follow them?
were they written
in some special ink
or on some weird paper?
And the president?
They're just a person
no different
they you or me.
And I do understand
that some laws are good for our health
and safety
those ones can stay
but really, if you want a country
that is truely free
this might not be the one for you.
(This is just a thought thats been nagging me, not like a HUGE uprising.)
