the tortoise and the hare

for a tortoise, i think i beat the hare. he ran from everything yet always won. whether it was to give up friends or to just be right. now i pass him as he naps on the side of the road. i need a nap too, though. it was every time until that i slept on the side of the road until the one time a month or so ago. he was sleepy enough to let me pass. and i won everything. i got the girl and i got my life back. so now he just doesn't race anymore. he doesn't have anything left to lose, but he doesn't want the title of loser. no one does. but a few select people earn it.

    at least not for good
