when our art is taken

what to do when everything that makes us human-

art, music, creation-

is copied, stolen, created by non-human, non-living ai

what will we do?

when our very expression is being taken away from us

when one cannot enjoy a work of art for its humanness, has to ask if it was robot made.

what will we do?

keep on, making, singing, being human.

for that is the one thing that they can't take away.

they can take our art, music, ability to express, they can take our hearts, our minds, our lives. But they will never be able to take away our being.

and one day, our humanness will overwhelm them

for they can imitate

but can never be.

    paid the price, i suppose.

why do we always pay the price for love?

    Orpheus, lonesome poet,
lost his love because he wanted to tell her they'd made it.

    Where I Keep My Heart

In my attic I keep my heart.
I hold it there, safe amidst pillows, blankets and childhood stuffed animals.
When I make things, I break off a piece of my heart,
    and sew it into pillows,
