Who's telling the story?

I recently read a book in verse.

I read it for the millionth time,

and it hits hard every single time. 

And it didn't make me think too hard

at first.

it didn't make me sad, 

It is wrong for me 

to want to hold you close

and tell you that it'll all be okay,

even if I have no way of knowing

if it will be?
