But Why?!

Y'all were cutting it close.
(I can say that know because everyone's turned it in).
But really? really?!
You submit the day of the deadline.
OF.
You make me wait, open, in your tab
My shiny classroom folder cover, wire holder
or my pixilated box just sits there.
Sometimes for over two weeks
Empty.
Because you decided to submit one hour
no,
One MINUET before its due!
Do you know the anxiety that puts me through?!
The pain of wanting all y'all to do well.
Get good grades,
Be good students,
But how can I cheer you on,
WHEN YOU LOG IN TWO MINUTES BEFORE MIDNIGHT TO SUBMIT YOUR PAPER THATS TWENTY PERCENT OF YOUR GRADE!?!?!
What happened to yesterday at 2pm?
Or the weekend before at 7pm?
Or the day before at 4am?
or any time before 11:55pm because IM SLEEPING!
And ma'am.
I should NOT be seeing you open a fresh Google doc
To start that report an hour before its due.
And SIR.
It will take you more than forty minuets to complete that two hour lab.
So please.
For me.
Your lowly submission box.
Virtual or hard copy.
STOP PROCRASTINATION AND GET YOUR THINGS IN ON TIME.
Where is the joy, the satisfaction,
Of trying to beat my submission time?
There is no prize.
I promise I'm not secretly giving out cake to whoever submits it 'just in time' latest.
Theres no cookie.
Why not just make me happy and get your assignments in early?
Get it over with.
Honestly I don't get the premise of holding things off till the last minute.
Who teachers you these things!??
You know your teacher still has to grade them;
And she takes weeks to do that.

  • A Space Among The Stars

To live in a space among the stars
    I'd have to get binoculars
To see the dentist on the moon
And find the next Uber at noon.
To live in a space among the stars
I'd have to float to school in cars.
  • Frost

    Its fingers were hot
    and cold and
    sweet and dark.
    All at the same time.

    Sleeeeep.

    It whispered in her ear.
    Her petals shivered.
    Its breath ran slowly
    down
    her stem and
    tickled a leaf.
