before your work goes on

(i mean)

the work goes on

(in shouted songs & permanent marker protest signs

in places i'm not sure if i can still call home)

the cause endures

(in all the children born to these times and

all the children growing up to an uncertain future)

and the dream shall never die

(ah, but we will,

and we'll take all our dreams with us to the grave)

your dreamers are gone,

america,

and you'll have to stop wishing on someone else's star

to get them back again

before your work goes on
