A Poem of Mythical Beasts

There’s a story to tell,

one of dragons and queens.

A story that’s as alluring as a bell —

in the dead of night, when all is not what it seems.

When the stars align, showing the way of the earth,

allowing the magnificent dragons to roam freely,

trouble begins to stir, giving way for something sinister.

Dragons of the sea, swim with ease,

as the dragons of the sky fly so high.

The dragons of the land, shift like sand.

Their presence is a warning,

though, no one takes note as morning —

arrives, the sky full of gray, storm clouds.

I am pieces of those I love,

Pieces of those I’ve loved, too.

They make me who I am,

    who I strive to become.

    Deep in my heart,
