Dandelions

I used to pick Dandelions for Mom
to put in vases
just like all the other pretty flowers.

I used to pick Dandelions
because their bright yellow
was too cheerful to ignore.

But I was told they are weeds
too many times to count
and I stopped picking them,
stopped noticing their sunshine.

Today I looked down
and found once again that the sun
could grow from the earth
when Rain decides
to chase the light from the sky.

This is beautiful! I love how you capitalize Rain to give it some personification, and your imagery is so simple and powerful. A gorgeous piece all around!
