Toxic

Maybe I lost it one day.

Maybe I was tired of taking it.

I was put in a horrible

Toxic

Situation with horrible

Toxic

People.

There is no out.

I have no choice but to survive the year.

Tough it out.

If there's one thing I'm good at

It's surviving.

So they picked on me.

They picked on our teachers.

Behind our backs, of course

Too scared to say it to our faces.

They made fun of a teacher out sick in front of our sub

They tried to tell me how to live

What to do

"Why won't you do this"

"Why"

"Why"

"Why".

I don't owe any of you any explanations

I think

But I know better than to say that

Because the school

Will never understand

And I hate getting in trouble.

So I snapped, one day.

"Why don't you mind your own business?"

My tone as sharp as ice

With razor edges.

Dulled, slightly

But still aiming to injure

A little bit

For now.

So after that day

That day when I was so tired

And I told them where they could put their ridiculous

Unspoken

Rules

I kept going.

It was hard to stop.

Day after day

After day

After day.

I fought them.

Over little things

I would not let them win.

I stood up for my teachers

And they can make my life miserable

But I can make theirs worse.

They don't get to do this.

I won't let them.

The only problem is

They're a group.

A group of mean

Selfish

People.

And they back each other up

And tear everybody down.

And I hate them.

Every single one.

I tried to give them a chance at the start.

I gave up quickly.

Lost causes can't be helped when they're not willing to try.

So I fight them

Every step of the way

With my voice

With my words.

I tell them stop

I tell them no

I tell them treat our teachers like humans

Because they work so hard for us

And they are so patient with us

And you lie to the subs

Say "she never taught us this!"

So I tell them pay attention more often

Because she did teach us this.

And they make fun of everyone

And it is

Disgusting.

Toxic.

Toxic.

Toxic.

    To the trees,

    Your green crowns standing proudly against the sky;

    To the trees,

    Trunks twisting every which way

    Rooted firmly to the earth

With your crests in the clouds.

    To the trees,

  • Sisters

Where are you going to be

    When I need you?

Are you going to stand there

    And take it?

    Are you going to

    Share the load?

Are you going to have my back

    When I'm anything but perfect?

  • P.E.

    Today

    We had P.E.

    I do not mind P.E. -

    I do not care -

I can play sports like any teenager

    If not a little better.

There would have been no problem

    Except

You had to create one, didn't you?
