Secret
By Holden
The silent whispers
Of a secret
No one knows
what it is
But the desire
is there
To know it
Like an unquenchable thirst
The secret spreads
Twisting its way through small openings
Like the smell of muffins
Or dust floating on air
You might know a little more
If you know the secret
A little more knowledge
Or a little more wisdom
The secret can hurt
Like a spider’s bite
Piercing the skin
And the heart
The secret could be a key
To unlock more secrets
And sometimes
Wonders
The secret has wings
Like a butterfly
Soaring
The silent whispers of a secret.

I really like the diction you use in the poem. This word choice creates great imagery and flows the poem well.
