It's the cat

Because It Felt Like Freedom

Being outside without a coat on when it's probably twenty degres out but the wind make it feel more like seven.
The wind whistling in my ears,
Making them cold to the point where they hurt so bad it feels good.
Running in the dog park with my dog.
Me running and running defying gravity,
The wind blowing so hard I am almost flying.
ME!
FLYING!
The cold penetrating every bone in my body so I feel nothing.
Reading a book that held me so close in it's grasp that when I had to stop I actually couldn't form words.
Every word like I was there.
My singular heartbeat turning into a thousand all over my being.
Nothing around me but the book.
I would normally not like this.
Maybe it was the coffee,
Maybe it was the fact I didn't have a coat on.
Or maybe it was the fact that I just took a jump and went with it and didn't stop 'till I hit the bottom of this strangeness.
I didn't give up when I was scared.
I didn't get my coat or close my book.
I just kept going.
Because it felt like freedom.
And that felt good.

All the descriptions in this are great! It really made me feel what you were feeling.

I would like to comment again on this poem, half because it's great, half because I LOVE your new profile pic.
