My (Past) Fear of Dogs
When I was little, I used to be scared of dogs. I'm uncertain where this fear came from, but it was powerful. So, when my parents agreed to get a dog after months of my younger brother Ben begging, I was petrified. -
I Dare
The scraping of my board on the sidewalk,
The rustling of leaves in the air.
The pounding of my foot on the pavement,
The wind whipping through my hair.
I skid to a stop at the top of the hill,
There's one thing in my head -
I Hear
I hear the birds,
singing in the trees.
I hear the whispers,
of a cool winter breeze.
I hear the crunch,
of my boots on the snow,
the forest gives life.
Now you know.
