We have hawk eyes
watching
for the moment when the hills
can decidedly be called red
instead of green.

Take me on a drive.
I'll roll the window down,
stick out my hand,
let it
soar through the air,
fly on the speed,
fly on the wind.

First leaf
The first leaf
is let away
from the motherly grasp
of its tree's branches.
It twirls down
the veins and the webbed leaf between them
fighting
gravity
making it spin
dip

sing to me.

The sun sets slow on this fading day,

lately i miss owls
the mountains grumble and grow, pushing up around pumpkin shards and lost dreams
who i want to be
who i’m becoming
i feel like a dusty yellow pear

my next trick
it won't be flashy, showy, or
even remotely special to the untrained eye
but those who've suffered the burden of
knowing me will understand why
my next trick is magical.
