Thank You YWP
Thank you Young Writers Project
For this beautiful opportunity
Where we can all express ourselves
And have support from others
And not worry about being judged
Because we all care about this

Happy Poems
Why does it feel
Like happy poems
Are harder to write than
Sad ones?
Like when you're feeling good
The inspiration
Feels minimal
And harder to express
What do you think?

Apples, Bananas, and Chickens
Okay. So I asked my sister for three words to write about, and she said "Apples, bananas, and chickens." Well, this is my story about apples, bananas, and chickens.

Goals
It's good to have goals.
Right?
I mean
They seem like a good idea
The idea of succeeding in something you worked hard for
The thrill of when you finally achieve it
Like finishing a detailed painting

Festival
Long day
past where morning sun shines and into the dark huskiness of night
fluorescent lights beating down
then flickering off
a fanfare
a reflection
a redemption

You Are Not a Number
Just so you know,
You are not a number,
you are not a digit out of 10
or a rating,
you are not a GPA
and you are not what you got on the SAT,

Friendship is
Friendship,
Friendship is a wonderful, beautiful, amazingly quirky thing.
It’s meeting for the first time at a random place with no expectation of getting to know anyone, until comes a simple, “Hello.”

Magic

Lift your face to the sky
Feel the soft, chilly flakes
melt on your tongue,
float on your eye lashes,
bring color to your cheeks.
