I feel we need new leaders in this country. Leaders who are younger, understand what the people actually want, who aren't just focused on having power. Leaders who work to create peace and make America a safe place, a refuge for anyone who needs it. To me, Trump is too focused on gaining land, money, and power. I feel he only wants what he wants, not what the country wants.
The past and current leaders in this country have been in the age range of 43-78. All of these leaders were raised in ways that aren't exactly needed anymore. A lot of president's view Pride and immigrants negatively. But that's not what people need or want.
If people do not feel safe in their country, they should be able to move here for a safer refuge. They should feel like America is welcoming and a place where everyone is safe. But that's not what's happening.
America is not better than any other country. In fact, I feel it's worse for many reasons. Gun shootings, assaults, aggressiveness and many more crimes are being committed every single day. Crime is not where anyone wants to be. Crime does not welcome people to stay.
Trump's recent tariffs only create worse relationships toward every other country. Each country has a tariff ranging from 11% to possibly as high as 245%, depending on the product ordered. So if you bought something for say, 1,000$, then you would have to pay from 1,110$ to 2,450$. The tariff money only gets higher and higher the more the product cost. And guess what? That extra money only goes to Trump and the government.
This means people will want to buy local goods instead of imported goods, lessening the purchase of goods from other countries. This also causes other countries to possibly start pulling back their products, making it harder for us to get supplies from other countries when it would only cost more money for ourselves to make it here.
Trump was born in 1946, when people where traditionally only boys and girls, only attracted to the opposite gender. Girls were expected to play with dolls and boys expected to play with guns and toy soldiers.
That is not the case now. Girls can play with soldiers, boys can be attracted to boys, people can be different genders than just boys and girls.
Trump, however, is not very open to this. He believes life should be traditional, like how he was raised.
The country shouldn’t be the same for decades or even centuries. We should adapt, learn things thought before we shouldn't. We wouldn't be at the place we are now if we hadn't found out smoking harmed more than helped, or not have to memorize everybody's phone numbers.
There are still changes that we do NOT need, like change from peace to war. People nowadays fear terrorist attacks more, fear for mass shootings more than you did 20 years ago.
I personally keep a knife in my room for personal safety. Sometimes I can't fall asleep for the fear of someone harming me or my family. Stories have caused me to have nightmares, to fear every unexpected creak in the house.
I don't want to live like that. I don't want to live in fear.
Younger leaders and government would help for a lot of reasons. They understand how we feel, how we want freedom, how we live in fear. They would bring the peace with other countries that we need, they would bring the justices to criminals we need, they would overall give us what they need.
Younger government would also be a government I would like much better than the current government. They would know our humor, know how we see life, know what we mean if somebody goes into court saying words like 'cap' or 'rizz'. (That may not be the case, but you see what I mean.)
Younger leaders would be more helpful than some 78-year-old man who looks like a Cheeto and only causes people to be angry.
Quoting David Hoggs, “What we are not saying here is, ‘Oh, you’re old, you need to go.’ What we’re saying is we need to make room for a new generation to step up and help make sure that we have the people that are most acutely impacted by a lot of the issues that we are legislating on — that are actually going to live to see the consequences of this.”
We are the future of America. How is America going to have a bright future when the majority of youth have trauma one way or another?
Sometimes I feel I don't belong in America. I don't want to live in a country only hungry for power. I don't want to live in a country where I might not feel safe expressing my feelings. I don't want to live in a country that have trucks that look made by a two-year-old. I don't want to live in a country that shuns people in need just because they are from other countries.
I want to live in a country where everyone is welcome to express themselves, whether it's their name, gender, sexuality, or anything they wish to change about themselves. I want to live in a country where I feel happy with the government we have. I want to live in a country that doesn't cause random inflation.
And last little note; I cried when Trump was elected. I cried because I was scared that I would be deported against my will. I cried because I didn't want to be shunned by the people who are supposed to lead us. I cried because I didn't want unnecessary war. I cried because Kamala was so close to becoming president and didn't.

I love it! It's perfectly said, and I can relate to this. I don't want to live in a place where the people just want power and money. Mostly, I just want people to be happy, and America is not that place.
When trump became president for the second time, I literally started dreading every hour, every minute, every second of that day.
I wanted to leave America because it would become more and more dangerous, eventually too dangerous for anyone to live in.
I also almost cried when Kamala didn't become president.
I love this! Keep writing!
Thanks! This made my day!
And I will not let a Cheeto man destroy us all.
