I want to LIVE

I want to live,

I want to hear a million songs and dance in the rain,

I want to kiss and make love,

I want to see the world from every angle,

meet people that I will love and ones I won't,

I want to do stupid things and make people laugh.

I want to live my life not contemplating when I'm going to die,

but what I will do before it happens.

How many times will my cheeks turn the colors of roses because I was embarrassed?

Or because someone loved me in the right ways?

What ridiculous jokes will I make and laugh until I cry?

How many more people will enter into my life and make it better,

Happier?

How many boys will I love?

and when will I find a man?

How many times will I cry?

and wonder why I have to deal with everything before I realize "dealing with things" is a blessing.

I'm learning that I have to survive the bad moments to really live-   the good moments.

Every heartbreak is one closer to-     the love of my life.

Every time I cry is a time closer until-     I'm truly happy.

I want to think about how every breath means I'm still alive,

and not that it's one closer to my last.

Living isn't breathing,

it's feeling that if the world were to end right now that you would be okay,

breathing is merely surviving,

Live-

Go the places you've never been,

take walks in the dark,

and sing at the top of your lungs,

be nice for no reason,

make friends with strangers,

say "I love you" every time it counts,

Enjoy the moments that you ignore.

  • Whispers of a home

I hear the tick of a clock letting me know every second I am wasting as I scroll through my phone,

the slide of my finger against the screen,

the tap of my thumb as I message someone back,

    artificial noise.

  • A child in Spring

Some where there is a child jumping in new puddles,

playing in the soft mud of the Earth,

    full of joy.

Some where a child picks springs new dandelions,

blowing on the fluffy seeds to make wishes.

  • A letter to ICE

Pledge your life to liberty and justice,

raise your hand and take an oath to serve and protect,

    who are you protecting though?

I watch the news and see agents hurting the innocent,
