What are your guys ways to edit stories? I am finishing a book that is 15 thousand words, and I am looking for effective ways to review my book. What are your favorite ways to edit your stories?

I've only really tried editing one long piece, but I honestly just like to read through and make sure things make sense and flow nicely. It sounds simple, and I'm sure there's better words, but I think it's (at least) a good way to start!
I don't personally have experience with this, but I would get either some friends or, even better, a teacher, to read through and give comments!
When I edit my books, I just read over them and often times hand them over to my friends for additional proofreading. I find that having people I know read it and give me their feedback is most helpful.
My process is longer books is to print out the manuscript on paper, then read through it without editing anything, and noting what passages you want to keep, change, and cut. That should give you a pretty good jumping-off point for a second draft.
This probably isn't helpful but I edit everything as I go. In the future that might be helpful? It just drives me crazy when I see anything that's not 100% grammatically correct, so I recommend just checking for typos, imperfections, and phrasing as you write, so that you only briefly have to skim over it when you're done. Otherwise, good luck going over it! I also suggest handing it over to a friend for proofreading :)
