I absolutely LOVE Keeper of the Lost Cities and Carry On!!!! Have you read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell?
I've read the graphic novel version, it's so good!
I know! It’s my favorite realistic fiction book!
Yes! It's just so relatable, when you have something you're good at and you like doing it, but it's not going to work as a future job, and just the anti-social-ness of it all I can absolutely connect to!
Exactly! Also just the struggle of writing sometimes.
i LOVE hooky!! i've never really seen other fans of it aha
Hooky makes me so happy! Did you know that Miriam Bonastre Tur is making another book, Marionetta? I've been reading it on Webtoon, and I'm super excited for when it becomes a physical book in 2026!
me toooo!! also i did not know, i definitely need to check it out :)
You should, it's really good! Miriam Bonastre Tur changed her style a little bit, but not by much. There's still her signature love triangle, though!
omg I love Rick Riordan!! I especially love that after he was finished with the pjo universe (except really he's not lol there's still more coming out!!!) he started his own imprint for other mythology authors. it's so cool :D
Wait there's more pjo books? I thought it was just the first three and then The Sun and the Star, and I was so confused, I was like "How did we get from 'oh hi it's Nico di Angelos' to 'NICO AND WILL ARE BOYFRIENDS'? Did I miss something?"
oh...oh...okay flip how do I explain the massive pjo universe in 500 characters. whew okay so here's my favorite order of each sort of mythology Rick Riordan wrote:
PERCY JACKSON (Greek/roman): pjo books 1-5, heroes of olympus 1-5, trials of Apollo 1-5, Sun and the Star, Chalice of the Gods, Wrath of the Triple Goddess
MAGNUS CHASE (Norse): magnus chase 1-3
KANE CHRONICLES (Egyptian): kane chronicles 1-3
(magnus chase and the kane chronicles are related to pjo but not required to understand pjo)
:D
That's... a lot more books than I was expecting. Thank you!!! I have a new reading list now! Hooray!
yeah its kinda a lot lol
well good!!! happy to help :p
I love KotLC! (Also by Shannon Messenger is the Let The Sky Fall trilogy which I haven’t read but I’m going to soon.) Another good Rick Riordan book that’s not part of the PJO world (besides Daughter Of The Deep—which I totally recommend by the way) is one that I’m currently reading called The Maze Of Bones (book one) in The 39 Clues series!!
Cool! I've looked at Let The Sky Fall and Daughter of the Deep and considered reading them, but I haven't yet and I'm excited to!
The Wings of Fire series is incredible! What's your favorite book?
I think I like the last one the best. It wraps up the series nicely, and I like Freedom's ending. I feel bad for her though...
