Powerful and heartwarming! This is a beautiful poem in its own right, for its vivid descriptions and the emotional bond being developed, but to then see this special relationship between mother and daughter so strengthened in the last lines really takes it to another level. I admire what you've done here!

I heard Goo Goo Dolls start playing in my head as soon as I looked at this! One of my favorite songs, hands down. That said, this is lovely. I'm a sucker for simple pen or pencil portraiture like this, and your caption made me say "aww!" I hope your friend enjoys it as much as I do.

You've crafted such an air of mystery here! By the end, the reader too feels like they know the woman at the end of the street -- know, in the sense that there's so much they still don't know at all. So much yet to unravel in her persona! You do a great job developing intrigue, and the dark, charming, almost witchy quality of the woman makes for a fascinating character.

She looks like such a sweetheart! It always brings me a small smile to come upon those rainbow sun spots on the floor, when the sun shines through the window in just the right way -- you know the ones -- and they're just lovely sparkling down on your dog. Great shot!

Summer already seems so long ago! With exquisite detail you've so well captured that laidback, not-a-care-in-the-world feeling that you only find next to a body of water, with time to waste. A breath of fresh air.

It's funny how limiting yourself in some way (telling yourself you're going to focus on one very specific topic or use only one material or one color) can sometimes challenge us in just the right way, and bring out the best in our creativity. Experimenting with only purple tones really paid off for you, because this is striking!

It's so easy to think of the frigid, sharp-edged, barren qualities of the season, but this poem brings out the beautiful side of winter, too! It's easy to forget.

I'm with you there! And nothing quite like that crunch beneath your feet, am I right? Sometimes I see a particular leaf and think to myself, Now that is a crispy one, perfect for my foot to make friends with...
