What an anguished scene, this dancer overcome by emotion and collapsing on the stage... I can feel the sorrow. The ambiguity of her struggles adds intrigue to the piece: Is she heartbroken ("wild romance"; "why she didn't go")? Is she deeply insecure about her abilities? I still can't make up my mind, but the reader doesn't have to know these things to understand her sense of defeat; it's more interesting this way!

This poem embraces you, in the way you speak of embracing one another. It inspires hope, hope for humanity, by reminding us we are all in this together. I think it's necessary that we all keep this notion of an ideal, compassionate world alive within ourselves, all strive to be better to one another, help those around us and the communities we're a part of. One day at a time, we can turn this Earth into a brighter, kinder home for all.

I've never heard those expressions before, but I'll be trying to keep them in mind now! If you have such a positive outlook on the idea of mistakes, I imagine you do when it comes to other important aspects of life as well, and I admire your brave optimism.

Thanks you! I think we all needed a little positivity when it’s raining in January.

Love it. The intensity of the inner monologue and the simplicity of the action adds a comedic value that is just perfect.
