Tiny Writes
In the current government I’d love to know what music, books or other things are helping you along (stay sane). For me it’s the songs Labour by Paris Paloma and The Seed by Aurora. I also recently read In Other Lands a fantasy YA book by Sarah Rees Brennan. It talks a lot about gender stereotypes in a fantasy world that very much reflects the current “real” world.

Hi! I really like re-reading or thinking about the These Violent Delights series. It's set in interwar Shanghai, China and its a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but I swear its the best one I've ever read. It really delves into the political climate at the time and I learned some history that most western textbooks don't look into. The sequel series Foul Lady Fortune goes deeper in depth as WW2 begins in China. There's some odd parallels I find in the story with our lives right now and the writing is impeccable. Music that is very calming also is really keeping me sane right now, with Hozier's Wasteland Baby and the Good Grief EP from Leanna Firestone. They're both sad but they have some hopeful messages, at least in my opinion. Aurora's The Seed is really good and I also recommend her Apple Tree, it's really incredible.
i love Labour by Paris Paloma!! i'd say a lot of cavetown songs are keeping me along, his songs just have this warm feeling to them that i really can't explain lol. girl in pieces is one of my favorite books that keeps me going pretty strong, the book of course as graphic stuff in it but i noticed that it portrays that recovery is possible. i also really enjoyed a book called posted that i got from my school last year for a summer reading this, it's a sweet book and the character names and descriptions are really cool. i say it shows a soft side of the truth of school, it's also pretty funny from time to time lol. i also have two shows that i really have started to enjoy, win or lose which was recently released on disney+, which portrays all these different stereotypes and whats going on in the mind of someone dealing with gender dysphoria or anxiety, which makes me happy. fionna and cake also is such a good show, it makes me super happy lol.
I’ve been reading a lot of fun, very gripping novels just to escape from the world. I’ve gotten really into the Inheritance Games mystery series and I just finished a romance called Nothing Like the Movies which is the sequel to Better than the Movies. Whoops maybe this ahould have gone in the book club section. 😅
