Tiny Writes
So, recently, I started a novel about a polycule that explores different genders, sexualities, ethnicities, and religions.
I know a lot about different genders and sexualities, but I don’t know a lot about different ethnicities and religions.
Would anyone be open to helping me write this, or at least helping give me some extra perspective on different ethnicities and religions?
I’m also thinking of having the two characters who are adopted, something I don’t have experience with either.

(For context, I’m white and agnostic/atheist, and ex-Mormon.)
Hi so I don't know if this helps because my religion is wayyy funky and super small (like 0.00997% of the global population kinda small) but I'm a Unitarian Universalist which basically means we're all about free search for truth and meaning with no sacred texts or anything like that (We have like principles but they're mostly guidelines, not strict rules or anything). We're just a congregation of people looking for spiritual growth and we've all got core individual beliefs and there's programs for the youth to help discover those beliefs and stuff. If you wanna know more let me know, I know its not like the most understandable religion and its not exactly organized but its the one I got lol
I think that could be super fun to incorporate as one of the characters’ religions, especially because it sounds pretty non-judgmental! I’ll send you a message so that we can collaborate. :)
Hi! this sounds super cool and interesting. I don't know if this helps really but I am an anti-Zionist Jew? I go to synagogue and stuff but I don't support Israel or any of israel's beliefs, and I am getting bat mitzvahed not with the synagogue (they're extremely pro-israel and were going to make me talk about Israel in my speech) but with a small collective that thinks the same way my family does. I really love being a Jew because we don't believe in sinning or that some religions are better than others, and we don't convert. it feels very peaceful and I do enjoy praying and singing in Hebrew. if you want to know more i'm totally up to talk about it!! judaism is a very researchable religion but I kinda got the more liberal end of the stick and that's not as widely supported :D
That’s actually perfect, as I’ve already written two of the characters in the polycule as Jewish! I’ve done a lot of reasearch into it, but it would be super helpful to have someone who actually is a Jew help. I’ll message you so we can get started. Thanks so much! =)
Hi! I'm not religious, but I am half Iranian which (I think) is kind of unique. I feel like my culture can be misunderstood because the Iranian government is pretty...interesting. My grandparents had to flee the country because the regime wanted to kill them. Also, my other half is very, very white so I can speak to being multiracial which can be pretty weird because it's difficult sometimes to feel like you really belong to either side of your family. Because I got a lot of the white features, I've sort of struggled with not actually feeling Iranian or feeling like I'm pretending to be because I don't look like that side of my family. Anyway, I don't know if any of that would help but reach out if you want!
Awesome! That’s definitely something that could be incorporated. I was thinking of having some multiracial characters, so your input would be super useful!
