Ancient flower

Slow and drawn out

the aftermath of recovering from harsh conditions

yet still standing

the beauty of ancient strength and wisdom radiating from it

yet still full of surprises

still going

still growing

despite all doubts

you can still see it

dulled petals that still shine with an internal radiance

bees still flock to it

craving its wisdom

the land may be unpredictable

but it still bows to the ancient flowers

the ones that have stood from since seemingly the beginning of time

the ones who have survived

the strong ones

in body and mind

but especially in spirit

shining from inside

an internal sun that revives everything around them

these are the strong willed

the wise and thoughtful

the ancient flowers.

    Revival

    It's a band piece

    weird, I know

    it's from last year

and we only played it in concert once

but it means a lot to me

it reminds me of a lot.

    Me

    How

    do others see me?

Do they see a girl in gray cargo pants and light blue thermal quarter zip?

Do they see a friend who loves them despite her crankiness?

Do they see a quiet awkward girl who prefers books to people?
