The creatures

The albatross watched from high above

at the calico cat slinking across the forest floor, a view of the situation from the ground among the trees and undergrowth

the queen bee flitting around, ordering her subjects

the robot of storms half buried underneath moss and vines and dirt, watching and waiting, beginning to forget

the four different creatures met each other's gazes

they knew

they would forever know -

that bond that connected them all

they all knew what was going on

and they didn't like it one bit.

    Revival

    It's a band piece

    weird, I know

    it's from last year

and we only played it in concert once

but it means a lot to me

it reminds me of a lot.

    Me

    How

    do others see me?

Do they see a girl in gray cargo pants and light blue thermal quarter zip?

Do they see a friend who loves them despite her crankiness?

Do they see a quiet awkward girl who prefers books to people?
