I await you in the open grass–
The rolling plains roam my mind
Dark-swept winds ride the horizon–
Damp with the promises you left unanswered
The dreams you let drift away–
Now, slowly settled in the aftermath of dandelions scattering
How is it
You were blown away?
Now I trace the path past a pall–
Walk into the universe with my tears
How many have been waiting
In the busied life of death–
In a parallel plain where I cannot
You lie pleasantly asleep in the love you sowed.
The only remnants that lie here–
a chiseled name almost gone in storm-swept grasses
and last soft breath, threading along
To the life that covers your grave.
