    My name is Ryaku. I live in a world where those with powers rise above the powerless. I learned the hard way that you can only survive by not trusting anybody. I’ve been betrayed countless times after trusting people.

Somehow I've managed to keep
track of myself
throughout the years
which is quite an accomplishment
considering that whoever put
me here
forgot to give me
the instructions.
 

Pitch black 
Night owls stalk their prey
I sleep soundly 
Listening to the wonders of nature
My window wide open
Just as I like it
Loud beeping slices through the air,
I jump then tremble
Not sure whats happening

PREFACE

    A story? Yes, I have a story I could tell, if you will listen. I first heard it on a night much like this one, a cold, quiet night, sitting by a bright fire. Now let me think, how should I begin? Hm. Ah, yes. I think I know.

I know it’s nearing closing time, the woman in the red dress left long ago, 
in the arms of another man. 
Sometimes I wonder if I stay out late to avoid what’s waiting for me. 
There is nothing quite so lonely

    Once, there was a king who hated everyone who wasn’t like himself.

Blair was only just sitting down when the doorbell rang again. She just rolled her eyes as her brother went to open the door. She turned to her friends, helping them set up for the day.
