And there I sit on the sticky leather couch, turning on the tv and trying to click to the news station. Frames of different shows flash by while trying to find the channel, depicting an odd arrangement of colors flashing throughout the room.
“Mom!” I shouted. “We’re out of milk!” She looked up from her computer at the kitchen table. Her face said: not my problem. “Put it on the shopping list.”
I walked down the hall, and down the spiral staircase. Then I put my toast in the toaster and made my coffee. I put butter and honey on my toast and sat in my chair with a good book. Once I finished eating, I set my book down and walked outside.
I haul open a large glass door, and step inside to shield myself from the freezing weather, soon to realize that I am in a library. It's warm here. I want to stay so I might as well look around and see if I can find a good boo
Before us there were aliens. The human race started in a petri dish as an experiment for alien scientists. They wanted to test the living conditions of earth because their planet was too overpopulated.
Hope is a dreadful yet positive word. It weaves through the most difficult times but can change the life of anyone. Hope and determination are powerful combinations.
The sunlight shines down on the ocean water making me want to reach down and feel the water sift through my warm hands. My feet burn from the too-hot sand but I don’t move them. I haven’t been here since I was a small girl.
