I Miss Us

Do you remember

The games of soccer

At the park?

Do you remember

The night we created our book series

Roasting smores over a firepit?

It’s where we took that first picture

Do you remember

The time we spent Halloween watching Ghostbusters at my house?

I do.

I remember every moment.

I replay them in my mind,

Wishing we were forever.

If I could turn back time

I would go back to 2020

To relive the memories we made

I printed that picture of us last night

October 30th, 2020

We never finished our story

But there’s expiration dates

On the friends you make

I try to rewrite our ending

But the words are set in stone

And it’s too late

We’re already gone;

The rest of you have moved on.

  • peace is impossible

    I close the windows

    Lock the doors

    Turn off the lights

I don’t ever want to leave this room.

    I am tired of drowning

    In a world

That has never prepared me to swim.

  • August 2nd, 2025

There are ten days left until the first day of my freshman year,

    And I am fearful.

Fearful of drowning under the thrashing waves,

For I have been taught to survive

    but never to truly live.

  • Revival

    One day,

you will feel pain so excruciating it becomes abstruse. You will feel numb, detached from the world, lost in a void of darkness.
