circling
for so long
earth
a line we never cross
we drift
repeat
return
again
again
they’ll go farther
than any of us have
cut past the orbit
we’ve memorized
and still
there are lines
we don’t step over
invisible
but absolute
like we’re tethered
to something
we can’t see
there have to be others
out there
past the dark
past the silence
because
there
is
no
way
we came
this far
just to be

not accidental
cut it like i meant it
people laughed
said i looked
like
like
someone else
someone i wasnt supposed to
like it was an insult
like it would land
i let it

tears from you

a few days ago
i ran home from the bus stop
soaked through and shivering
under a thunderous sky
my thoughts dissolving into rain
lightning pulsing in the air
threading through the coarse strands
