love me
like the fog –
like the fog loves december –
for the winter gets blurry
and it's hard to remember
hold me
like the fog –
like the fog holds the town –
although i may not see you
let me know you're around
run me
like the fog –
like the fog runs the hill –
wait for me to collapse
from the great northern chill
then cut me
like the wind
slicing through the gray sky
disappear with the fog
with no merciful goodbye.

This poem is beautiful! I love the reputation of fog and the rhyme structure at the end of the first section. This poem tells a story through imagery and it calms the heart to read!
Thank you so much! I wrote it on a very foggy day this December and I'm so glad it had the feeling I intended!
Beautiful poem! love the repetition. I also love the image of fog as I serves as both an active character in the poem and a simile.
Thank you! I love personification in poems.
