Streets of Minneapolis by Bruce Springsteen
is so hard to watch when comments
are sobbing about seeing renee's face
or alex pretti's
with flowers piled up and ice agents shooting
and the black and brown people screaming
and shouting
and i just today found out about the banned countries list
all of which are black and brown countries
asia, africa, south america
sure, neo-nazis get first class
but the working class
don't.
facebook newsletters
and what about the show that appeared on my
netflix fyp
about blaze bernstein
he was killed
for being jewish
and
gay.
renee good
was gay
i thought america was an amazing country
and so did immigrants
like when i read all the books
of chinese or korean immigrants
or immigrant generations (like me)
saying how they want to live
the american dream.
they always leave out the details
of the shootings
and the death
and the economy
and the fact that
those who are dutiful to uphold the law
are killing their own citizens.
i don't necessarily think
that my family
would be too proud to see
the place that they immigrated to
was a hellhole of
bullets and blood and tears and dead flowers
you can replace flowers
but they can't live forever.
death is always the way out
but it's often too early.

Springsteen's song was incredible. He really was able to capture the way it feels right now, awesome poem.
Thank you! yes, I think we were waiting for that song. he really captivated the fear and anger and it is such a beautiful song.
