Orchard

now I sit in the orchard

Apples, pears, and plums filter the sunlight

it shines through in thread-width rays

pure and packed with heat

unmeasurable in inches

unmeasurable in its own way

giving life to the fruit

the trees fruit

the next generation of plums

fosters under the leaves

a direct line of hot sun

a single ray

pierces a leaf

a worm

a bug

so

many

things

in the

orchard

and now they are ripe

fruit

plucked.

plucked fruit, taken, stolen from a tree.

this is no bible story.

this is a modern day tale of growth.

listen up.

the apple is ripening now.

it is ripe.
