Mr. Kennedy,

For the love of all that is good

Understand that I am no disease

Calm the dogs you send after us

Kindness is the only way

You are the least qualified

Of all the people for the job

Do what you know is right <3

I’m going today

But as I pack my bags, I

Marvel at the land

I follow you down the dark, dank stairway,

Not taking a glance back the way we came.

The footsteps I take are whispers;

No one can hear them but me.

But you still listen to my heartbeat

After the snowfall in the winter there's a sky so deep that it scares me to look up,

to know my fragile kitten heart belongs to such a universe.

Soon it’s November—

Pumpkins and cranberry skies.

Autumn winks; she’s gone.

My body is a revelation

Unseen and unspoken

My body is a revolution

You will see I’m unbroken

My conscious is power

As I breathe, I fight

My conscience is power

Bullies and haters

I wish they'd just disappear

But I'm still standing

Clock ticking

impatiently waiting

for 3:15 

to strike.

Last class

smiles ringing across

the room, eyes

never leave

the time.

Laughter fills

the last day

of the week,

I am not a poet 
I don’t know how to use my words the way they can
I can’t captivate the minds of my friends by stringing them along with the simplest of words 

I am not a musician 

You might want to be a fly on the wall,

Discover what people really think,

What people say when you’re not around.

You don’t want to be a bug on the windshield,

I stood in the crowd 
My feet cemented to the ground 
Just basking in the light of something that would slowly fade 

I could hear the high pitched ringing 
A reminder of a past days sacrifice
