the rat

the rat chases me

it follows my every step

it stalks my every breath

the rat bites my ankles when i'm not looking

it makes me bleed

i cry in pain

the rat takes my spilled blood

it poisons it and feeds it to my friends

my friends become rats

every day there are more rats

they swarm the corners of my vision

its all that i can see now

the rats make the darkness come faster

it gathers at the end of the tunnel

the light behind me has gone out;

why must the rats hurt us?

the rats will end my life with a single bite

poisoned by my own blood

reality and dreams merge into one

the rats are coming

    Revival

    It's a band piece

    weird, I know

    it's from last year

and we only played it in concert once

but it means a lot to me

it reminds me of a lot.

Of Webtoons and authors and demented circuses

    Me

    How

    do others see me?

Do they see a girl in gray cargo pants and light blue thermal quarter zip?

Do they see a friend who loves them despite her crankiness?

Do they see a quiet awkward girl who prefers books to people?
