Danny is just a regular kid who goes to a regular school in a regular town. She likes playing softball and volleyball, and has fun playing with her best friends Andie and Jane. One day, Andie invites Danny and Jane over to her house for a sleepover. Danny can’t wait to go because Andie’s house was huge, and she had all sorts of fun games they could play together. Once Danny got there, Jane and Andie were already waiting for her on the porch swing, sipping pink lemonade with those fancy umbrellas and straws. They saved her a glass, and they talked and laughed for almost two whole hours. When everyone’s drink was empty, Andie went in to go make them some more, and when she was gone, Jane said,
“Let’s scare her! How about we hide under the porch! I know of a loose lattice board that we could remove carefully and quickly to get under the porch!”
“Sure!” Danny said, and just like Jane promised, there was a loose lattice board on her porch. They waited for five whole minutes, and almost gave up because of how dirty and musty it was down there, the front door opened, and sure enough, Andie came out with a pitcher of pink lemonade, their glasses, and a snack tray.
“I brought a snack- hey, where’d you guys go?” She said. Jane and Danny started giggling, and Andie heard. They covered their mouths, still giggling, when Andie was right in front of them, looking around.
“Shh.” Jane whispered quietly. She slowly moved her arm through a gap in the lattice board and grabbed Andie’s leg.
“AAHH!” She screamed. Then she realized that we had just played a prank on her, and she was a little angry, but mostly confused.
“How did you- Why did you?” She stuttered.
“You showed me that loose lattice board, remember?” Jane said, crawling out of the dust pit. Danny was just about to crawl out when she saw something. A robin’s egg blue door, or mini door, under the porch, and she heard a knocking. She wondered what it was, so she crawled closer. Then, she reached out her hand to open the door, but it was stubborn to open. She had to use both hands. She was finally able to open it, and she screamed.
“AAHH!” She backed out of the crawl space and screamed,
“Get it off me! Get it off me! Get it off me!” She wailed her arms.
“Danny, it’s just my bearded dragon, doggy!”
