It was around Nine O Clock at night and I was sitting around until I heard my house phone ringing. I was getting up and the phone rang, I left the room I was in and the phone rang. I entered the room where the phone rang for the last time, and The answering machine began saying that we didn’t have school the next day due to a snowstorm that was due to pass through the area. I was relieved by it being cancelled because I was going to skip school anyway and go skiing. I rejoiced that I would go skiing the next day and didn’t have to worry about missing any work. However, after I told my Mom about how school was going to be closed she said that my cousin Oliver’s school was also cancelled and that he was coming to our house so I wouldn’t be able to go skiing. After I found this out I disliked the next day much more and was not looking forward to it. After taking a shower I settled into bed and slept to morning. When I woke up I was rudely awakened by my alarm clock which I had forgotten to turn off. I got dressed in the morning sat on my couch and watched the beginning of a movie I got about half an hour in when I heard that dreadful noise across the house of my door being opened. My cousin and his mother walked in my cousin full of neverending energy that could only be satiated by constantly playing with him. I knew then that I would no longer be able to relax. He entered my house like he owned the place immediately scattering his coat, boots, and socks across the entryway of my house. Every day he had a new interest; some new thing that he obsessed over for the day. He immediately got to work he went over to our craft area and taped together some markers in the shape of some sort of wand/staff thing. Once he had gotten in our house he didn’t pay attention to his mother at all and just kind of left her in the entryway. After my mother and his mother spoke for a little bit his mother departed for work. After an hour or two of him being at my house and us playing together, we got into some sort of dispute and my mother told us to go play outside. We went outside and did our usual thing of grabbing our sleds and going sledding on a little hill behind our house. The hill was slightly icy but you could get quite far and fast. We slid down the hill many times until one time when my cousin was walking up the hill he fell. He fell right on his face and when he got up he seemed fine and he said it hurt a little bit. After a few seconds, I noticed that blood was slowly spilling out of parts of his face. Luckily he hadn’t noticed yet because he wasn’t screaming and crying yet. I checked on him and asked if he was okay and he said he felt fine. I yelled out to my mom “Mom come over here” I said it again and again until she came over. She was confused at first and she asked me “What?” and I responded “Oliver fell” She asked “Is he hurt” and I said “Just come over here” and when she came over and saw his face which was now mostly covered in blood She exclaimed “Oliver come inside your face is all bloody” and as soon as he heard that and reached up to his face and saw that he was bleeding he started screaming and crying despite being fine before. In the end, he was fine all he did was have one or two little cuts from face-planting onto some ice. Afterwards, we made snow forts and when we started getting cold we went inside and drank some hot cocoa. The snowstorm that was supposed to hit us ended up just being a few inches of snow.
