Spring is...

The beginning of life anew.

After the blistering cold and before the blazing heat

The sunny days and chilly nights

The glint of the sap buckets in the sun and the ting of the slow dripping syrup

The returning of the birds, chickadees hopping from branch to branch

The awakening of the bears, trudging from their wintry naps

The fluffy clouds and pouring rain, the muck and the mud

The fields of flowers, the reds and yellows and blues all gleaming

The smell of lilacs and daisies, of tulips and roses

The euphoric sensation of Mother Nature’s embrace.

Magical,

Messy,

Beautiful.

  • Lost

Cool mud on his face, a soft breeze to the sky, and something about the air. It smelled, off. Better. Cleaner. Jack opens his eyes to see himself in a forest with blue leaves.

  • I Wonder... Why Us?

What makes me stop and wonder is how are we even here?

How am I even writing this?

What miracle allowed us to come into existence?

    Better question, why us?

Why not the sharks, the birds, the insects?
