Sunset

Soft pink

mixed with the blue of today

a magenta now

you can see the swirls and streaks of the colors in the sky

warm and cool

the sharp, sincere orange flashes across the horizon

mixing

merging

flying

a silent orchestra from above

twisting

leaping

soaring

dashing across horizons

coloring the normally blue sky

turning the white clouds pink and gold and orange

too many colors

not enough words

the silent orchestra of sunset.

  • Ad Astra

    Ad astra

    Latin for to the stars

something that we've never done yet

    but we've gone near.

We've never gone to the stars

we've reached the not-quite-emptiness that surrounds them.

  • Anticipating

I don't know what this is

whether it's summer really sinking in

    or if it's something else

    something more

    something worse.

I don't want to turn into this

a puddle of negative feelings and boredom.
