There was a narrow world

There was a narrow world

It had a narrow town

With lots narrow people

Everywhere around

And just down the street there was a narrow steeple

And all were going in this narrow church

To pray to a narrow god

But if you kept going

In our narrow world

You’d see narrow alleyways

Doorways

And birds

But no matter how hard you looked

There’s something that wouldn’t be

A narrow hospital to fix you up.

For these very narrow people

Were narrow-minded too, you see.

    For consumption, for a snack

All we wanted and yet more

    Popcorn, popcorn, popcorn galore

    For a Sunday movie night

Be it funny or to give you a fright

    Popcorn now and popcorn then
