Life
What a silly game
In the universe’s dark corner
In mortals’ cast-iron frame
How keen of her to remind us
We exist for our strife
Maybe however
The cosmos reveals—
Subtle yet keen—
We exist to discover.
For discovery
We could not sever
Not because it fulfills
Not for golden medals
Not to wear greed’s coat
Not because of mortals’ winding steeple
But Because of wonder’s fertile mills
Wonder—
Forces us to comprehend
The incomprehensible
And with each incline of grade
We break out
To understand the possibilities
Waiting, lurking
To shape our lives
What a silly game
In the universe’s dark corner
In mortals’ cast-iron frame
How keen of her to remind us
We exist for our strife
Maybe however
The cosmos reveals—
Subtle yet keen—
We exist to discover.
For discovery
We could not sever
Not because it fulfills
Not for golden medals
Not to wear greed’s coat
Not because of mortals’ winding steeple
But Because of wonder’s fertile mills
Wonder—
Forces us to comprehend
The incomprehensible
And with each incline of grade
We break out
To understand the possibilities
Waiting, lurking
To shape our lives
