Young Goddess

Frizzy halo
fallen out from her goldenbrownlicorice braid
soft browns eyes dance
as she plays with her bubble gum pink slime
the sparkly silver citrus orange slice tattoo glittering 
as her hands twist and stretch.
simple science.

Stalk the frogs in the pond, 
she's been taught how to hold them, 
not too tight
but don't let them go!
Weave the cattails into a crown, 
queen of the dock.

A color connoisseur in the making, already
experimenting with different paints and layers, 
she mirrors the world around her
with her own version, 
spiraling shades into eachother trying
to unbreak this world, 
to stitch it up with ribbons and pastels
just maybe
a little bit.

Her name means sunshine, 
a warm light in this world.
Well spoken and versed
in the language of beauty, creating beauty, she
is beautiful. 

She's a young goddess.
an she has no idea of what
she's capable of doing.

Full of creativity and sunbursts, 
she mixes strawberries and crushed ice, a splash of maple syrup.
blends up a bit of sweetness to
fizzle on your tongue and chase away pain.
Both figuratively and literally.

She's a refreshing summer breeze, 
she's a young goddess. Accomplished in a secret zinnia magic
she'll unleash on the world someday. 

Her glasses get spattered with her experiments
They don't always work
but they're fun to do.
And besides, 
 her laugh breathes life into the room. 
She is the summer.
Mermaid extrodinaire, 
(No seriously she actually has a mermaid tail to wear when swimming)
and loves the water so much 
that she used to sleep in her flippers and snorkel.
Look outside for her, 
she'll most likely be among the flowers, 
Her pinkredblush cosmos, stunning and vibrant.
A little bit of her realm
down here on earth.

She's a young goddess, my little sister.
Breathing everything in this world in, 
learning about it
holding that information close,

So that someday she can dispell it all
in the form of unearthly beauty. 
And it will be magic.

This was written about my little sister, my mother's favorite child, an incredible artist, and the one of the brightest lights in my world :)
