ugh it's raining again,

i text my best friend when i wake up & look out the window

onto an already gray & gloomy world.

rain rain rain rain rain rain rainy november like all 

 My aunt

was diagnosed with colon cancer

a year ago,

maybe two.

stage 3

we thought she’d have it forever

and when we got the FaceTime 

I was a coward

and ran to my room and cried.

When I first found out that we were 

caught in the hellish net again, 

the blood drained out of my head and 

I 

screamed.

I stayed up as late as I could, but sleep took me.

Some days during the last block of school I feel like falling asleep.

Not because I don't care about school. In fact I want to learn,

To be American is to

Listen to the rain fall and to

Let it wash over our faces, just

As all who came before us did

(not just the founding fathers did but

the children, the mothers, those

The fear

well, more like terror

and self-consciousness

and discomfort

that comes with thinking that someone is looking at you

their eyes on you

it's truly horrible
