Fainting Goat

The rain fell in steady sheets onto the sidewalk, and I shivered. Next to me, my friend Chloe glanced at her watch.

“Four minutes until they let us in.” she rubbed her arms. “It's really cold.”

"Please take care of my human," 

the old cat whispers to the kitten. 

"They are scarred and broken. 

Until my return, 

take care of my human." 

The kitten is listening attentively,

I was gonna write something dark.

And depressing. 

But I'm not really in the mood to do that right now.

I dunno if the world is headed for good.

It depends on us.

It's been a little while.

I'm 14. In 8th grade.

I haven't posted in probably over 6 months.

What's new?

I got Covid, again, at the beginning of the year. Oh well, I guess. 

Home is where you dream. Where your ideas come to life. A rhythm of thoughts making themselves known, untangled. 

To be chosen. 
 

That's all I wish for — to be someone's first choice. 

I watch from afar, lost in a sea of the bittersweet feeling
