Only One
I am but
One speck in the Universe,
One piece of the world,
One person amidst billion.
I am just
Another person you will meet,

Not Cold Anymore
The wind blows in my face, and I shiver. It's so miserably cold. I feel soft, little things pelting my coat. Lifting my hands, I reach them out and find little white dots speckling them.

A Stranger Beneath the Leaves
I finger a rich, dark green leaf, dappled with sunlight. Running my fingers over the rough bark of an oak tree, I lift my head towards the sunlight. The sun warms me down to my toes, and I scoop up handfuls of dirt.

Who Are You?
The harsh, cruel blue light of the moon shone over my face. I once saw it as beautiful and gentle, but I don’t anymore. My hair had countless pins and hairclips in it, so many that it was almost a half of my hair.

Somebody I Thought I Knew
The wind whipped her hood, and I saw a glimpse of her onyx eyes and gently pink lips. She turned towards me, holding her dark black cloak together. Those eyes were so familiar, yet I couldn't place them.

Loves
-
unseen witness
The walls utter gossip at night.
They watch new women pass,
different steps, new perfumes,
claiming corners they'll never own. -
but i love you
I dread going to school every single day.
I hate it,
I hate being trapped there.
But I love being greeted by my best friend
who could make hell
feel as freezing as
these February Maryland mornings.

when the sky cries
every once in a while,
the sky gets tired
and hides its face behind
hands of light gray clouds.
it sighs in quiet thunder,
and lets tears of blue
slip loose, trailing softly down

I could be
I could be writing right now
about fairytales;
princesses, and dragons,
magic, and the prince that comes to save her.
But life isn't a fairytale for anybody,
so why write about them?

Who they want me to be
O Romeo
my love
my life
my savior
I speaketh through my metaphors
I whisper my lies
Romeo, my dearest Romeo
sing to me, keepest me alight

Benedict The Bound Jester
Benedict, the bound jester,
Laughing in a world of chains,
Painted smiles, velvet nightmares,
Dancing just to hide the pain.
Bells are ringing, crowds are cheering,
But he hears a different sound,
