The mossy grass is

damp after a long pour of rain.

The snow-capped mountains

are colored a powdery white

in the distance.

The sun is setting under the

cool blue waves,

sloshing forward and

Life is a road

According to a lot of people.

But they like to talk about things like

The forks in the road (our decisions)

Or

The river's waters flow

And the tide comes and goes,

Small and big amounts of earth’s liquid gold,

Laughter and smiles and stories untold, 

How peaceful it is to glide around unannounced on flat pieces of plastic they call skis. Why plastic gives you a placid feeling inside is unknown.

The brave little squirrel

climbs to the top of a tree

and thinks itself tall
